The procedure of turning a fetus in a uterus so as to put it in a better position for birth.

Changing the position of a fetus in the uterus, usually done to aid delivery.

A procedure used to reposition a fetus in the uterus to prevent a breech delivery. If a fetus is in a breech presentation (buttocks-first or feetfirst, instead of headfirst) after the 36th week of pregnancy, external version may be used to turn the head of the fetus downward. The doctor applies slow steady pressure by manipulating the fetus through the mother’s abdominal wall which is known as external version. Internal version, in which the doctor reaches inside the uterus, is rarely used.

The changing of the position of a fetus in the womb. This may be done to facilitate delivery by applying manual pressure to the outside of the abdomen, by inserting the hand into the womb, or by combining both methods. In spontaneous version the position of the fetus alters because of the natural contractions of the womb muscles.

Altering of the position of the fetus in the uterus. It may occur naturally or may be done mechanically by the physician to facilitate delivery.

An alteration in the fetal position, leading to a shift from the typical head-down presentation to an atypical positioning, often involving the breech presentation where the baby’s bottom is positioned downward.

The process of manually rotating an unborn baby to a position that makes birth easier.
