The group of arthropods that includes the mites and ticks.
An order of arachnids that includes many ticks and mites. Most are ectoparasites, i.e., parasites that infest the skin and skin structures; their bites or burrowing cause localized dermatitis and itching. Systemic reactions are rare. Some may be vectors of disease.
