Condyle

A rounded articular prominence found on the end of a bone, that is, relating to the mandible. It is a bilateral ellipsoidal projection found on the superior portion of the mandible’s ramus, and it articulates with the glenoid fossa. The condyle sits atop the condylar neck. The combination of the condyle and the condylar neck is referred to as the condyloid process or condylar process.

A rounded projection at the end of a bone that articulates with another bone.

A rounded protuberance at the end of a bone forming an articulation.

A rounded end of a bone which articulates with another.

Rounded bump on a bone where it forms a joint with another bone or bones (as the rounded head of the femur into the cup-shaped acetabulum).

Articular surface with rounded shape at the end of a bone.

A rounded protuberance that occurs at the ends of some bones, e.g. the occipital bone, and forms an articulation with another bone.

A rounded prominence at the end of a bone: for example, the prominences at the outer and inner sides of the knee on the thigh-bone (or femur). The projecting part of a condyle is sometimes known as an epicondyle, as in the case of the condyles at the lower end of the humerus where the epicondyles form the prominences on the outer and inner side of the elbow.

A rounded protuberance at the end of a bone forming an articulation.

A condyle is a rounded protrusion located at the end of a bone, which fits into a concave depression on another bone to establish a joint. The elbow serves as an illustrative example of a condyle.

A rounded bony protrusion, typically found as a component of a joint.
