A type of tumor that develops in the peritoneum from implantation metastases resulting from rupture of ovarian cystadenoma or cells escaping during surgical removal. Numerous papillomas develop, attached to the abdominal wall and intestine, and the peritoneal cavity becomes filled with mucus-like fluid.
The extensive spread and attachment of growths that have metastasized from ovarian malignancy to the peritoneal membrane in the abdominal cavity. It can also refer to the presence of mucus in the peritoneal cavity resulting from a ruptured mucous cyst of the appendix.
