Pathogenicity refers to the ability of a pathogen to cause disease in a host. This ability may be effective against certain varieties of the host but not against others. Furthermore, pathogenicity can be expressed in a manner that is different when interacting with various races and varieties. It is noteworthy that the use of this term is not recommended.
