Cryogenics

Very low-temperature (-320°F /-195.6°C) freezing, usually with liquid nitrogen.

The production and use of low temperature—temperatures in the range of -150°C to -273°C (-238°F to -459°F), which is roughly a range of 120°C (220°F) above absolute zero.

Long-term storage of body parts is very much in the realm of pseudoscience: It has been suggested as a way of enabling astronauts to survive a many-year space voyageen route to another star system. Long-term storage is currently used to freeze corpses until medical technology can cure the condition from which they died. Mainstream science believes that the complex and varied nature of the human body makes impossible the freezing of humans and their subsequent return to normal.
