Posset

A hot beverage prepared by curdling milk with ale, molasses, wine, or other flavoring agents, and seasoned with spices, is commonly known as a syllabub.

In the annals of medieval history, a beverage of note emerged, known as posset. This ancient libation was fashioned by combining sweetened milk with curdled curative agents such as treacle, ale, or wine. Traditionally, posset held a special place as a remedy for those afflicted with a common cold, for its warm embrace and soothing properties were believed to bring relief to the ailing.
