Excessive secretion of sebum by the sebaceous glands. The glands are enlarged, especially beside the nose and other parts of the face. The condition predisposes to acne and is common at puberty, usually lasting for a few years. Seborrhea is sometimes associated by a kind of eczema (seborrheic dermatitis).
