Ante’s Law (Irwin H. Ante)

Eponymous term that postulates that the in‐bone root surface of the supporting teeth for a fixed partial denture should be equal to or greater than the in‐bone surface area of the missing tooth or teeth being replaced. Additionally, the in‐bone root surface of a removable partial denture abutment tooth or teeth plus the mucosal area of the supporting soft tissue should equal the in‐bone surface area of the teeth being replaced.
