Theoretical emotional phases that a person passes through when faced with imminent death: (a) denial and isolation, (b) anger, (c) bargaining, and (d) acceptance.


Five predictable, but not universally applicable, psychological stages through which a person passes during the course of a terminal illness. These stages have been identified as denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
