Human sexual response cycle

As described by Masters and Johnson, the four phases of the sexual response are a. excitement, b. plateau, c. orgasmic, and d. resolution. These phases hold true for both men and women, although there are some gender differences in duration of time each stage lasts and there is a refractory period in the male after orgasm during which further stimulation will not result in further response.
