Impacted

Wedged in a tissue.

Tightly pressed or firmly lodged against something.

An impacted tooth (usually a wisdom tooth) is so firmly wedged in its socket that it cannot erupt through the gum. Impacted feces are so hard and dry that they cannot pass through the anus without special measures being taken. An impacted fracture is one in which the bone ends are driven into each other.

Pressed firmly together so as to be immovable. This term may be applied to a fracture in which the ends of the bones are wedged together, a tooth so placed in the jaw bone that eruption is impossible, a fetus wedged in the birth canal, cerumen, calculi, or accumulation of feces in the rectum.

Pressed firmly, like a tooth firmly implanted.

Referring to a fracture where the broken ends of the bone are pushed into one another.

The situation where the baby’s head gets stuck in the pelvis during childbirth.
