Acholuric jaundice

A disease where unusually round red blood cells form, leading to anaemia, an enlarged spleen and the formation of gallstones.

Jaundice without bile pigment in the urine. That is, jaundice in which the majority of the excess bilirubin is unconjugated.

A long-term form of jaundice that is generally mild and can be constant or sporadic. It’s associated with anemia, an enlarged spleen, and a higher likelihood of red blood cell destruction. Unlike other types, excessive bile pigments aren’t detected in the urine. This condition can be hereditary or developed over time. In some cases, removing the spleen can treat it.
