A treatment for cancer in which the patient’s own white blood cells are used to attack cancer cells.
The treatment of malignancies with T cells that are taken from patients with cancer, grown and activated in a culture where they are stimulated to react to specific tumor antigens, and then returned to patients by infusion. The adopted T cells invade the cancer and immunologically reject it. Side effects of the treatment include fever and nausea.
