An analgesic drug that also reduces fever. It is used to treat mild or moderate pain, such as headache, toothache, and rheumatism. It is administered by mouth and may cause digestive upsets; over-dosage causes liver damage.
A non-opioid analgesic similar in efficacy to aspirin, but without anti-inflammatory activity. It also has the advantage over aspirin of causing less gastric irritation. It is indicated for mild to moderate pain and fever in a dose of 0.5—1g by mouth (maximum 4 doses every 24 hours).
Paracetamol is a pain-relieving medication used for mild discomfort and fever reduction. Though uncommon, it might lead to side effects like nausea or skin rashes. Taking it in excessive amounts can potentially harm the liver and be life-threatening. There’s an available antidote, but it should be administered promptly.
