A condition in which polyps are found in many places in the intestine, usually resulting from an earlier infection.
A condition in which the bowel lining (mucosa) is covered by elevated or protuberant plaques (pseudo-polyps) that are not true polyps but residual islands of inflamed mucosa. It is usually found in chronic ulcerative colitis. The pseudo-polyps may be seen with the sigmoidoscope or colonoscope (through which they may be sampled for microscopic examination) or by barium enema examination.
A large number of pseudopolyps in the colon due to chronic inflammation.
