Act of thought

In educational philosophy, thought involves a perception of difficulty, a definition of difficulty, arrival at a solution, mental elaboration of the solution, and testing of the solution. John Dewey defines thinking as “active, persistent, and careful consideration of any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the grounds that support it and the further consequences to which it tends.”
