Admissible

In nomenclature, a name or epithet allowed under the current rules.

A legal term referring to whether evidence (such as a witness testimony, medical record entry, or blood test result) will be allowed to be presented to the judge or jury to prove a legal case. There are specific rules of evidence governing admissibility. For example, even though a plaintiff obtains a medical record during discovery, portions of the record may not be admissible in court because they are irrelevant to the plaintiffs case, protected by law, not properly authenticated, or for other reasons.
