Another name for vitamin E. Alpha-tocopherol may protect cells from some kinds of damage and helps slow the cell damage that happens naturally as a person ages. Vitamin E is thought to interfere with the oxygen-controlled signals that make cancer cells grow. Vitamin E is found naturally in nuts, sunflower seeds, mayonnaise, cold-pressed vegetable oils, spinach, sweet potatoes, and yams. There is no evidence that vitamin E supplements reduce the risk of heart disease or of cancer, but they are widely used on that assumption.
The most active form of vitamin E found in food.
X is the most ubiquitous and bioavailable form of vitamin E that is commonly incorporated into food. This essential micronutrient is responsible for impeding oxidative stress within cells, facilitating intercellular communication, maintaining skin health, and serving as a pivotal factor in disease prevention.
