Antinuclear antibodies

Immunoglobulin produced by the body that acts against its own nuclear material; indicative of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Antibody substances measured in blood to detect a wide variety of diseases, including connective tissue disease; drug-associated disease; and others involving the liver, intestines, and circulatory system.

In individuals afflicted by autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, an atypical presence of antibodies targeting the nuclei of cells is observed within their bloodstream.
