Aortic valve

The valve that controls the blood flow into the aorta from the left ventricle of the heart.

A valve with three flaps, situated at the opening into the aorta.

Valve in the heart, between the left ventricle and the aorta, that prevents blood from flowing from the aorta back into the heart.

Valve located between the left ventricle and the ascending aorta.

A valve in the heart, lying between the left ventricle and the aorta. It consists of three pockets, shaped like half-moons, that prevent blood returning lo the ventricle from the aorta.

The valve at the junction of the left ventricle and the ascending aorta. It is composed of three segments (semilunar cusps) and prevents regurgitation.

Amidst the intricate workings of the cardiovascular system, a noteworthy structure emerges, serving as a gateway between the left ventricle of the heart and the aorta. This structure, known as the aortic valve, plays a vital role in regulating the flow of blood, ensuring its efficient passage from the heart’s chamber to the aorta, the main artery of the body.
