Arthrogram

X-ray of the inside of a damaged joint.

MRI, x-ray, or CT images of a joint and adjoining structures.

An image, taken by X ray, CT (computed tomography), or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of a joint that has been injected with a contrast dye to outline the internal anatomy of the joint. Arthrograms are generally taken of the knee, ankle, elbow, hip, wrist, or shoulder joint as part of an evaluation of joint injuries, possible damaged cartilage, and other suspected abnormalities. The images are used to determine the course of treatment and may also be used as a visual aid during corrective surgery.

Visualization of a joint by radiographic study after injection of a contrast medium into the joint space.

A diagnostic examination performed by injecting a contrast dye into the shoulder joint followed by capturing X-ray images. The presence of dye leakage reveals the presence of tendon tears.
