Articular disk

A ring of fibrocartilage that separates the articular surfaces of a joint.


Fibrous connective tissue that separates temporomandibular joint cavity into two compartments. Also called the meniscus. Fibrous connective tissue between two bony structures to reduce abrasion and friction located in a joint cavity.


The biconcave oval disk of fibrous connective tissue that separates the two joint cavities of the temporomandibular joint on each side.
