Artificial airway

A device to provide and maintain free passage of air through the upper airway.

A pathway for breathing that is established and upheld through the use of a device, such as tubing. Artificial airways are typically implemented for patients who face the potential collapse of their own natural air passages due to factors like trauma or underlying medical conditions.
