Atypical antipsychotic agents

The second generation of antipsychotic agents that have an effect on both dopamine receptors (in particular, D2 receptors) and serotonin receptors (in particular, 5-HT2A receptors). Currently available atypical antipsychotic agents include aripiprazole, clozapine, olanzapine, quetiapine, risperidone, and ziprasidone.
