Auranofin is a gold-based medication utilized as an antirheumatic drug in the management of rheumatoid arthritis. What sets auranofin apart from other gold preparations is that it can be taken orally, rather than requiring intramuscular injections. It is important to note that auranofin should only be used under medical supervision, and the dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the individual’s specific condition and response to the medication.
