Transversectomy
The surgical excision of a vertebra’s transverse process.

The process of undergoing a transformation. The conversion of one material into a different one.

Spanning from one ilium to the opposite ilium.

Bed traction
A form of pulling force used for treatment where the patient must remain in bed.

Axis traction
Pulling force that is aligned with the channel, such as the birth canal in the pelvis, through which a body, like a baby, must pass.

Ambulatory traction
The pulling force applied by a walking cast or brace to a broken limb or sore joint while the patient is mobile.
