  • Testing play

    A form of play that allows children to test their physical skills, emotional reactions, and ability to cope with different situations.

  • Test cross

    A cross of a dominant with a homozygous recessive to determine whether the dominant is homozygous or heterozygous. Used as a test for linkage.

    A person who has made a will.  

  • Testability

    The extent to which a hypothesis is amenable to systematic scientific study.  

  • Tertiary water treatment

    The purification of water by using chemicals to remove phosphates and other compounds, and electrodialysis to remove dissolved salts, primary water treatment; secondary water treatment.  

  • Tertiary stage of syphilis

    The final stage of the syphilis infection characterized by a variety of symptoms depending upon the organs and tissues involved. When the brain is involved, an organic mental illness, general paresis results. Syphilis is treated with penicillin or other antibiotics.  

  • Tertiary prevention

    Controlling the progress of a disease and rehabilitating a person. Within an organizational stress intervention context, tertiary prevention refers to providing rehabilitation and recovery assistance to individuals who have developed mental or physical health conditions related to stress.
