Autoregulation

Process of maintaining a generally constant physiological state of a cell or organism.

Redistribution of blood flow to areas of greatest need; self-management of emotions and behavior during periods of stress.

Control of an event such as blood flow through a tissue (e.g., muscle) by alteration of the tissue. If blood flow is insufficient, precapillary sphincters dilate; when blood flow increases, precapillary sphincters constrict.

Homeostasis refers to the processes that take place within the body to maintain optimal conditions for normal functioning. These processes involve the regulation of blood distribution among various organs and the maintenance of a balanced salt and water content within the body. Homeostasis plays a vital role in ensuring the stability and harmony of bodily functions.
