Bitewing radiograph

A radiograph that shows the crowns and upper third of the roots of upper and lower teeth. It is made by using a dental film with a tab (bitewing) or placement device that holds the film in place when the jaws are closed on the tab and is used to detect proximal caries and the interdental bone.
