Blade implant

Design‐specific type of implant categorized as an endosteal implant. Blade implants can vary in width and length and are intended to be placed within bone as a one‐piece implant. Both the implant that is the endosteal portion and the transmucosal component that serves as an abutment intraorally are included.


A flat, blade‐shaped endosseous implant which derives its support from a horizontal length of bone. Most commonly made of metal, it can be perforated, smooth, fluted, textured, coated, wedge‐shaped, and/or multiheaded.
