Blood donor

A person who gives blood which is then used in transfusions to other people.


One who gives blood for transfusion purposes. Persons with type O blood are considered universal donors because their blood can be given not only to those with type O blood but also to those with type A, AB, or B blood.


A person who gives blood for storage in a blood bank. The blood can then be used for transfusion into another patient.


An individual who donates his or her own blood for use in patients of compatible blood group who require transfusion.


One who gives blood to be used for transfusion.
