Canal

A tube along which something flows.


Relatively narrow tube, generally for conducting materials other than blood or lymph (e.g., the alimentary canal, for carrying food from the mouth to the stomach and intestines for digestion and for expelling wastes through the canal’s end, the anus).


A tubular channel or passage; e.g. the alimentary canal and the auditory canal of the ear.


A narrow tube, channel, or passageway.


A slender and elongated conduit or passage within the human anatomy, like the auditory canal that connects the outer and middle ear, or the alimentary canal that constitutes a vital component of the digestive system.
