Cannabinoid

The body’s endogenous (inbuilt) cannabinoids such as anandamide are found in the brain as well as other parts of the body and are involved in pain and pleasure as well as immune and other functions. In cannabis, CBD (cannabidiol) is sedative, whereas THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is mind altering.

Active chemical components in cannabis that plug into cannabinoid receptors in the human brain. Cannabinoids deliver powerful antioxidants and can shift neurological and physiological patterns.

A chemical compound found only in cannabis products, esp. tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

A compound that is either extracted from or synthesized to resemble Cannabis sativa (marijuana).

A substance from a group of compounds that activate the cannabinoid receptor sites within the human body. These receptors predominantly influence the nervous system, encompassing the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, as well as the immune system, which aids in combating diseases and infections. Cannabinoids can be categorized into three groups: endocannabinoids (naturally produced within the body), phytocannabinoids (found in plants), including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive element in cannabis, and synthetic cannabinoids (artificially created in a laboratory).
