Assumption (Scientific)
The fundamental assertions about the nature of the world that are scientifically studied. Such statements are not empirically testable, for they are the starting point of scientific reasoning. A supposition; an idea that is not subjected to logical or empirical study.

In the reflex arc, a neuron that transmits impulses from afferent neuron to efferent neuron association areas. A neuron which links an association area to the main parts of the cortex.

The psychological school of thought that maintains that learning is determined by a link which is created between a stimulus and a response through action on the part of the learner; that is, learning is a process of developing associative connections or bonds.
