  • Continuous flow culture

    A bacterial culture in which a fresh flow of culture medium is maintained. This allows the bacteria to maintain their growth rate.

  • Cuffed endotracheal tube

    An airway catheter used to provide an airway through the trachea and at the same time to prevent aspiration of foreign material into the bronchus. This is accomplished by an inflatable cuff that surrounds the tube. The cuff is inflated after the tube is placed in the trachea.
