  • Crusta

    Dried serum, pus, or blood on the skin surface. Crusts are seen in diseases in which the skin weeps, such as eczema, impetigo, and seborrhea. They are often yellow brown, dirty cream- or honey-colored.  

  • Crusher

    A surgical instrument used to flatten tissues.  

  • Crural palsy

    Paralysis of the nerves of the legs (e.g., 12th thoracic, first to fifth lumbar, and first to third sacral spinal nerves).  

  • Cruise

    To walk sideways or diagonally while holding onto people or objects. It is a form of locomotion used by infants and toddlers as they begin to assume an upright posture while exploring their environment.

    Raw, unrefined, or in a natural state.

    To croup or having a fibrinous exudation. An autosomal dominantly inherited congenital disease characterized by hypertelorism (widely spaced eyes), craniofacial dysostosis, exophthalmos, optic atrophy, and divergent squint. The disease is one of the craniosynostoses.  

  • Crouch

    To bend the knees and bring the upper body down and forward.  

  • Croton oil

    Oleum tiglii; a fixed oil expressed from the seed of the croton plant, Croton tiglium. It is toxic to skin, heart, muscle, and the gastrointestinal tract.
