Decompensated shock
The late phase of shock in which the body’s compensatory mechanisms (e.g., increased heart rate, vasoconstriction, increased respiratory rate) are unable to maintain adequate perfusion to the brain and vital organs. Typically, the patient is hypotensive in decompensated shock.
