Gastrosplenic ligament
The fold of visceral peritoneum that connects the edge of the stomach and the hilum of the spleen.

Gastrophrenic ligament
A fold of peritoneum between the esophageal end of the stomach and the diaphragm.

Gastrocolic ligament
The secondary attachment of the greater curvature of the stomach and the transverse colon formed by the folding of the gastrocolic mesentery to become the greater omentum.

Gas permeable lens
A contact lens that allows oxygen to pass through it — enhancing eye health, lens durability, and comfort. Gas permeability derives from the incorporation of silicone in lens plastic. GP lenses are used to manage visual conditions such as astigmatism, keratoconus, and presbyopia.

Granular interior layer
The fourth layer of the cerebral cortex, consisting principally of closely packed stellate cells.

Granular exterior layer
The second layer of the cerebral cortex, consisting of pyramidal cells.

The innermost layer of the epidermis, consisting of a basal layer of cells and a layer of prickle cells (stratum spinosum).

A laser that scatters light energy across the macula; used to treat many eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy.

Granny knot
A double knot in which the ends of the cord do not lie parallel, but alternate being over and under each other. This knot is not as secure as a square knot.
