  • Interjudge reliability

    The extent of agreement by trained observers of the evaluation of a particular event or phenomenon.  

  • Interindividual

    A term used to describe a person’s performance in comparison to that of others.  

  • Interference of forgetting

    The assertion that items are forgotten because they are somehow interfered with by other items learned before or after.    

  • Interest inventories

    Questionnaires designed to measure a person’s various areas of interest to assist in determining a particular academic area of study or area of vocational interest.  

  • Interest groups

    Usually focused upon a particular target area, e.g., the environment, politics, education, etc., where members informally coalesce to discuss the issue at hand and to advocate for particular action to promote their cause.  

  • Interest centers

    Areas within a classroom that focus on a particular subject area. Particularly geared toward an open classroom setup where students can move from one area to another with minimal restriction.

    The prevention of, or interruption of, the smuggling of illegal drugs into the United States at boarder crossings, at sea, and through air surveillance and interception. Law-enforcement efforts to interrupt the supply of illegal drugs.   • Intercurrent infection

    An infection that occurs in an already ill person during the course of some other disease state. A disease or infection which affects someone who has another disease. An infection that develops in a person who already has another disease or infection.

    Nonvaginal method of coitus that uses the space between the thighs to hold the penis.  

  • Intercourse, anal

    A form of sexual intercourse in which the penis is inserted into the partner’s anus sodomy.
