  • Impregnation

    Conception. The action of impregnating. Fertilization of an ovum. The process of conception or inducing pregnancy.

    To make a female pregnant. To soak a cloth with a liquid.  

  • Impotence secondary

    A condition in which a man has had at least one successful sexual encounter, but now has lost the ability to achieve or maintain an erection. Its cause may be either physical or psychological. This condition is now referred to as inhibited sexual excitement.  

  • Impotence-primary

    A condition in which a man has never been able to achieve or maintain an erection in either heterosexual or homosexual encounters.  

  • Implosive therapy

    Based on the assumption that extinction of an unwanted response will occur as a person imagines the frightening stimuli that cause the fear or anxiety. Implosion therapy, also referred to as flooding, is a type of behavioral therapy aimed at desensitizing an individual to the source of their phobia.  

  • Implicit trial and error

    Trial and error behavior carried on covertly or at the level of thought rather than action.  

  • Implicit personality theory

    The drawing of conclusions about a person’s personality through relating certain characteristics in a seemingly logical way.

    Understanding the nature of things through intuition and the drawing of conclusions as a result of experiences not necessarily directly related to the situation at hand.

    The presence of a hymen with no openings. Surgical incision at the time of first menstruation is indicated. A membrane in the vagina which is missing the opening for the menstrual flow.
