  • Lateral meristems

    Secondary tissue, such as cambium and cork cambium.  

  • Lateral malleolus

    The rounded projection on the lateral side of the ankle joint, medial malleolus. The part of the end of the fibula which protrudes on the outside of the ankle. Process on outer edge of fibula at lower end.

    An asymmetry of function of the two cerebral hemispheres. In most people who are right handed, the left hemisphere is specialized for language, while the right hemisphere is better at visual and special tasks.

    A region of the hypothalamus that is said to be a hunger center and to be in an antagonistic relation to a supposed satiety center.

    The spectrum of colors seen as a result of the spherical surface of the lens.

    The difference in the functioning between the right and the left hemispheres of the brain.

    The period in which the virion becomes part of the host’s cell’s DNA.

    A period of a disease in which there are no signs or symptoms of the disease.
