Non-granular leucocyte
A leucocyte which has no granules, e.g. a lymphocyte or monocyte.

A surgical operation which does not need to be performed immediately because it is for a condition which is not life-threatening, e.g. joint replacement.

Node of Ranvier
One of a series of gaps in the myelin sheath surrounding a nerve fibre. One of the gaps that occur at regular intervals in the myelin sheath of medullated nerve fibers, between adjacent Schwann cells. A space between adjacent Schwann cells along a nerve fiber; no myelin sheath is present.

Nodal tachycardia
A sudden attack of rapid heartbeats. Tachycardia resulting from a focus in the atrioventricular node. It may be the result of digitalis therapy.
