  • Outer hamstring

    A tendon of the biceps femoris muscle along the back of the thigh.  

  • Orbital gyrus

    One of four gyri (anterior, posterior, lateral, and medial) forming the inferior surface of the frontal lobe.  

  • Occipital gyrus

    Any of the gyri on the lateral surface of the occipital lobe. They are classified roughly into two groups, the inferior or lateral occipital gyri and the superior occipital gyri. They are not always present.  

  • Ocular gymnastics

    Systematic exercise of the eye muscles to improve muscular coordination and efficiency.  

  • Olfactory groove

    A shallow groove on the superior surface of the cribriform plate of the ethmoid on each side of the crista galli. It contains the olfactory bulb.  

  • Obturator groove

    The groove at the superior and posterior angle of the obturator foramen through which pass the obturator vessels and nerve.  

  • Ovarian graft

    The implantation of a section of an ovary into the muscles of the abdominal wall.  

  • Omental graft

    The use of a portion of the omentum to cover or repair a defect in a hollow viscus or to cover a suture line in an abdominal organ.  

  • Olfactory glomerulus

    A neural network found in the olfactory bulb, formed by the dendrites of mitral cells intertwined with the axons of olfactory receptor cells.  

  • Oxyntic gland

    Gastric glands found in the fundus and body of the gastric mucosa.
