  • Pulvinus (plural pulvina)

    Swelling on the petiole (either proximal, distal or both) that functions to permit leaf movement.

    Swollen part of the stalk of an individual leaflet in a compound leaf, similar to pulvinus.

    Minutely pubescent, the hairs hardly visible to the naked eye. Covered with an almost invisible down.
