  • Radiculitis

    Inflammation of a radicle of a cranial or spinal nerve. Inflammation of a nerve root characterized by pain and hypersensitivity. Inflammation of the spinal nerve roots, accompanied by pain and hyperesthesia. Inflammation of nerve roots, typically those of the spinal nerves.  

  • Radical treatment

    Treatment which aims at complete eradication of a disease. An extensive or complete therapy, such as surgical removal of an entire diseased organ and its associated lymphatic drainage. Alternatives to radical treatment may include observation, palliation, modified procedures, lumpectomies, or conservative treatments.  

  • Radical mastoidectomy

    A surgical operation to remove all of the mastoid process.  

  • Radiation enteritis

    Enteritis caused by X-rays. A possible enduring variation of enteritis (inflammation of the small intestine) triggered by the intestine’s exposure to radiation, including the application of radiotherapy. Radiation enteritis is characterized by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  

  • Radiation burn

    A burn on the skin caused by exposure to large amounts of radiation. A burn resulting from overexposure to radiant energy as from x-rays, radium or other radioactive elements, sunlight, or nuclear blast.

    A jerk made by the forearm when the insertion in the radius of one of the muscles, the brachioradialis, is hit.     A fatal form of encephalitis resulting from the bite of a rabid animal.

    Referring to rabies, or affected by rabies. Infected with rabies; related to rabies.

    The study of the structure of the body that can be seen without the use of a microscope. The study of body structures that are visible with the naked eye, including muscles, tendons, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and viscera.
