A fracture where the structure of one side of the bone is compressed, while the opposite side deflects from the growth plate, leaving the cortex intact.

Toddler’s fracture
A fracture of the distal third of the tibia, sustained in a child typically aged 2 to 4 years. The child may limp or refuse to walk because of pain. The fracture may not be easily seen on plain radiographs.
