  • Trace amine

    Any of several chemicals synthesized in the body and similar in structure and function to the biogenic amines. Examples include phenylethylamine and tryptamine. Trace amines alter impulse propagation in the brain and influence mood and behavior.

    The network of osseous tissue that makes up spongy (cancellous) bone.

    Any of the thick muscular tissue bands attached to the inner walls of the ventricles of the heart.

  • Toxin-antitoxin

    An infrequently used mixture of a toxin and an antibody that blocks its effects. It was formerly used in some vaccine formulations. A blend where the toxin is largely counteracted by the corresponding antitoxin.
