  • Virulent phage

    A phage (virus) that destroys the host (bacterial) cell, temperate phage. This statement pertains to a phage, a type of virus that reproduces itself within a host cell that is vulnerable to its attack. Eventually, the host cell ruptures, releasing the newly created phages into the surrounding environment.
