A characteristic of light, arising from the presence of light in greater intensities at some wave lengths than at others in that band of the electromagnetic spectrum from 380 to 770 nanometers, to which the human eye is sensitive. The term color includes black, white and intermediate grays.


Usually meaning artificial dyes permitted for use in foods (Blue No. 1 and 2, Green No. 3, Red No. 3 and 40, and Yellow No. 5 and 6).


A visible quality, distinct from form, light, texture, size, brightness, and shade, that distinguishes some objects from others.
